GENERAL DESCRIPTION

HL5608 is an object proximity sensor IC, with eight capacitive input keys and eight direct outputs. The state of each output is correspondence to the state of an input directly. There are two kinds of output modes, active high and active low, which can be chosen by polarity input pin. HL5608 is fabricated by CMOS process with power consumption. In order to be used in a variety of different applications, there are some parameters used to define the sensitivity, stability, time waiting for a stable state, sampling time and polarity of the output.

In many applications, the power supply of the system is not stable and interfered by noise. In order to operate in this condition, a voltage regulator is designed in HL5608. There are two requirements of stability for the regulator: stability with power supply voltage variation and stability with variation of temperature. In order to meet the requirements, a bandgap voltage reference circuit is used in the regulator. In the operating range of HL5608, variation of the output voltage of regulator in HL5608 is smaller than 1mV even the variation of the power supply exceeds 1V. And the regulator output has little voltage drift with the variation of temperature. Besides, there is noise rejection circuits built in HL5608. By building such circuits in HL5608, the power supply can be even connected to a low power motor (e.g. the motor used in a toy) directly without interfered by variation of the voltage of power supply and the noise of the motor. And the noise of a switching power supply will not affect the performance of HL5608. The operating temperature range can be as wide as from -40℃ to +80℃.
